When Sandy Rosenthal founded Levees.org in 2005 with her son, he was barely more than 15 years old.

Sandy was leader and spokesperson. Stanford was the website designer. He also created the logo.

Neither mom nor son had any idea that the non-profit would still be going strong ten years later.

It took ten years and the help of thousands of supporters to expose the Army Corps of Engineers’ levee building mistakes and its disinformation campaign to cover them up.

And now, at the tenth anniversary of the worst civil engineering disaster in U.S. history, it seems there are precious few photographs of the two co-founders doing the work of Levees.org together.

Fortunately, Ted Jackson with the New Orleans Times Picayune took this photo shown above which appeared on 6/06/06.

The photo has its original caption from the article by Lynne Jensen.
