U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein announced on Friday a legislative push to secure funding for Californias aging levees before they collapse and cause a Katrina-style catastrophe. “The lesson of Katrina has to be that we recognize potential failures before they happen and move aggressively to remedy them,” Feinstein stated in a written release. “The urgency to restore Californias levee system has never been so great as it is now.”
