Levees.org Founder listed in Gallery of Most Influential

Mount Holyoke College has unveiled its Gallery of Most Influential Women at its 175th Anniversary.

One of the selected alumnae in the Gallery is Sandy Rosenthal, Founder of Levees.org. Here is an excerpt:

Ever since the devastating levee failures and flooding in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina, Sandy Fulton Rosenthal has worked nonstop to ensure that the prevailing narrative portrays the event as due to the negligent acts of man, not the fury of Mother Nature…

Ms. Rosenthal is also featured on the cover of the most recent Alumnae Quarterly.

Congratulations, Sandy! Thank heavens for you and Levees.org!

  2. HOLVOR A. ASHLEY says:

Land along the gulf coast is sinking due to continued pumping of the oil strata beneath the surface. Water pumped from Florida’s land caused sink holes with homes collapsing into them in a similar fashion. The products of combustion of oil or cellulose are carbon dioxide, water, and heat,i.e. more water results from oil use. When fires burn trees this also happens. When California has fires the middle of the nation gets rain carried by the jet stream and U.S wind patterns. This is simple science. We can’t just pump oil along coastal areas without continually raising levees higher. Science always trumps politics. Hal Ashley, MD,PhD, Retired pathologist.
