NORA includes Levee Exhibit Hall as part of American Planning Association conference
Right now, the American Planning Association is holding a 4-day National Planning Conference in New Orleans.
Part of the experience was a tour of the Gentilly area of New Orleans traditionally diverse, largely post-war neighborhood that suffered extensive flood damage from the London Avenue Canal levee failures.
The group of fifty explored the post-Flood redevelopment of Gentilly, which provides a model for disaster recovery and community development driven by local government support of housing development, commercial revitalization, and vacant land stewardship.
