We now have electric power at the proposed Flooded House Relic at the London Avenue Canal breach site.

The neighborhood and the city of New Orleans have been very supported of this unique project, possibly the only one like it in the country.

The house at 4918 Warrington Drive in Gentilly is probably the very last house within a stone’s throw from a breach site that has not been torn down or been refurbished as a residence.

The proposed flood exhibit inside the house will depict a flooded living room 8 weeks after the floodwalls broke during Katrina. Just like a theatre set, it will look real.

The accompanying signage will explain why New Orleans flooded during the hurricane, namely, due to the Army Corps of Engineers’ levee building mistakes.

Levees.org, working with the neighborhood and the city of New Orleans, will not allow this opportunity to pass us by.
