Levees.org was founded in November 2005 by Sandy Rosenthal and her son Stanford – then ages 48 and 15 – while evacuated from New Orleans and living in Lafayette, Louisiana.

Our mission is to advocate for and provide education on levee safety for the current generation. We also promote historic preservation of levees for future generations.
