Today, Levees.org founder Sandy Rosenthal will speak to a group of Russian journalists and editors. She will discuss the use of social media tools to raise public awareness of local human rights issues (using the New Orleans levee failures as an example) as well as to gain the support of private- and public-sector entities.

These visitors are invited to the United States under the auspices of the Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program. Their program is arranged by Meridian International Center.

The invitation to speak to the Russian visitors was extended to Ms. Rosenthal by the New Orleans Citizen’s Diplomacy Council.
