The following ten states have at least 2 cities with populations greater than 300,000 living in counties protected by levees. California has nine. Texas has five. Ohio four and Arizona three.

Sandy Rosenthal was interviewed as part of a series entitled “9 1/2 Questions” for which she answered a range of questions about her work, her attention to tiny details, the movement towards open data, and how astroturf groups are sabotaging the efforts of true grassroots workers.

It’s Official: Whitehouse.gov is Tedious but Worth the Effort

In mere hours, Levees.org supporters met the challenge and reached the 150-signature threshold allowing our petition to be searchable on Whitehouse.gov.

Now comes the real challenge. For Levees.org’s request to be officially reviewed by the Obama Administration, and to receive a response from the President, we need 5,000 signatures.

It’s a challenge because Whitehouse.gov is not the most user-friendly site on the web.

To sign the petition, it seems you must register, verify, change password, sign out, sign in, and THEN click sign.
